The San Vicente Stakes is an American thoroughbred horseracing event that is run each year at a distance of seven furlongs on the dirt track of Santa Anita Park. This grade II event is open to thoroughbred horses with age group three. At present, this horseracing event carries a purse of $150,000. The San Vicente Stakes was inaugurated in 1935 as the San Vicente Handicap and was open to older horses until 1937. Since the inaugural year, the race has been running at various distances — the distance was six furlongs from 1935-1936 and again from 1952-1954; seven furlongs between 1937-1939, 1949-1951 and 1955 till date; one mile between 1940 and 1946 and again one and one sixteenth miles between 1947 and 1948. Evita Argentina clinched the top position in 2009 racing over Santa Anita Park.
